last night

Went to the sketch charlotte meet up last night and worked on this. I'm going to be job hunting this weekend because I hate where I am now.

His work reminds me of how stiff my drawings STILL are. His in contrast, has so much energy. I had said I was going to loosen up. This is why I don't really enjoy portraits because I can't take liberties like stretching the form or not worrying about exact likenesses. Because of how I continue to work, people still expect me to be a human xerox machine. When I see stuff like this, I'm like uuuuggg!! Let me out!!! I want creative freedom! But, my portraits are the only thing I've ever earned money on. I've got to change that.

line work

This will be going in my sketchbook that I want to publish. It was drawn from a photo that I've seen online. Detailed finishes will be posted later. I have a portrait project to do with 4 people in it. Although I don't really like doing portraits, that's all I've had for people to buy from me. Hopefully this will change soon. Also, I just bought a new sketchbook with lineless paper. I'm gonna give Etsy a try as far as selling my work goes.
